  • Combination of live endoscopy, short didactic presentations, interactive discussions, and interactive video case presentations.

  • An audience response system will allow for dynamic and interactive sessions.

  • Collaboration with American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Endo Live during a colonoscopy symposium on Thursday September 1, 2022 featuring didactics and live demonstration of basic and advanced colonoscopy and polypectomy techniques.

  • Hybrid course with an option of attending in person (limited seating)

In short, HITEC 2022 will feature a detailed illustration of the optimal techniques to enhance endoscopic skills for the management of various luminal and pancreatico-biliary diseases, whilst concurrently introducing advanced and novel procedures/techniques to endoscopists, trainees, endoscopy nurses and technicians from around the world. Welcome Note From Course Director 

We welcome you to attend the sixth annual Hopkins International Therapeutic Endoscopy Course (HITEC) on September 2, 2022 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.

We envision this to be a hybrid (both virtual and in-person) and unique event with focus on basic and advanced therapeutic and bariatric endoscopy.

The course will include extensive live endoscopy demonstrations by renowned national and international faculty and emphasize principles of basic endoscopy, advanced endoscopic techniques and procedures, in addition to endoscopic innovation.

This activity is intended for endoscopists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, gastroenterology/ surgical fellows, endoscopy nurses and endoscopy technicians. "

INFORMATION

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This activity is intended for Anesthesiology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Practitioner and Nursing.

OBJECTIVES

After attending this activity, the learner will demonstrate the ability to:

1.    Discuss the latest advances in luminal and pancreaticobiliary endoscopy.

2.    Discuss the latest advances in bariatric endoscopy.

3.    Discuss different management options techniques for patients with complex colon polyps.

4.    Present an update on POEM and other treatment options for patients with achalasia.

5.    Illustrate techniques and indications for endoscopic suturing.

6.    Demonstrate latest breakthrough procedures in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT 

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 7 MOC in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
